Planning To Fail

Excellent talk on using distributed tools to grow a web service and testing for failure. Great to hear a real world case study on how these tools are used at Hailo.
Also thought this was a great talk. Certainly got me thinking about the possibilities of end-to-end testing and fault management. Well delivered David.
Fantastic talk, very informative and well delivered. Best talk of the conference
Fantastic talk, a great speaker, solid presentation and interesting.
Cool talk. It was great to see a real-world application of the technology.
Amazing talk full of real life examples of distributed systems, scaling, testing and planning to fail. Lots of good insights.
"We got caught out by nye! " ... that doesn't inspire confidence.
Some good analysis and ideas on how to test your app but lacked a killer punch on what to do and why.
I was hoping for more design patterns but I did enjoy this talk. Well presented and thought provoking.
Nicely presented, the topic was really interesting - we should always design our systems with failure as a common event, rather than hiding behind a rock and ignoring it. Learnt a trick or two on how to test socket failures too ;-)
As a philosophy, "planning to fail" is an excellent way of approaching a complex solution with multiple working parts.
David delivered a great talk, with a lot of background on the issues Hailo have encountered. The Netflix "chaos monkey" was brought into great context; good advice was given on how we might apply this ourselves.
Real food for thought and well presented.
