A good introduction to what's going on under the hood. I was surprised that the MySql Optimizer didn't choose what I thought the most efficient path was.
Good presentation of what happens in MySQL queries so we can have a better understanding of it. The problem that I had with it was that there wasn't really much of a take away on this. When I go to a conference such as this, I want to come away with ideas and methodologies for improving my development but I didn't get much of that from this presentation. It would have been nice if a little less time was spent on the problem and more spent on the solution.
