Great talk, very well explained! I really liked your metaphors with the brewery. All the concepts you talked about (Data Mapper, Switch, Bridges...) are something I will talk about in my tomorrow's talk about legacy code.
This was a fantastically pragmatic talk that clearly, by example, outlined strategies for modernizing and cleaning up all the terrible code you could be handed. Stefan is a great speaker, engaging and present, who obviously has the experience to back up his advice.
Great speaker, but to me the presentation was a little light on content. Based on the abstract, which mentions re-architecting of a (presumably) complex application, I was expecting a little more. This being said, the concepts were very well explained and I'm sure beginners benefited from the clear examples, but to an architect this should be really basic stuff.
