Very entertaining and inspiring talk which was exactly its purpose! It was really important to show what a community is and also who are the people driving it.
This was my first "Calcification", and it was incredibly motivational. I try to be everything Cal presents in the talk, but hearing the examples, definitions, and just getting grounded by the "community's father" makes one question one's engagement, and want to do more. I don't think there could have been a better conference closer. Excellent story arc with sub stories, energetic, funny, and highly knowledgeable speaker in a very entertaining talk.
Funny, insightful, creative, enthusiastic - this young wizard gave a talk that included demystification and un-horrorrization of the Raspberry Pi and its functionality, as well as its implementation with PHP, covering everything from basic electronics concepts and safety precautions to code examples and video demos. There was enough humor, intelligence, and "let's just relax at the end of the conference, yeah?" attitude to make it a perfect conclusion, and if the talk score on this site could go up to 6, I'd complain about it not letting me give him a 7.
Elena showed surprising preparedness, confidence, and kept a good tempo throughout the talk, demonstrating a nice use case we can all relate to. 10/10 would hear more.
Mark's relaxed attitude and calming voice with clear instructions, use cases, and fun anecdotes, made this highly unorthodox topic sound very interesting and logical. Including the code as a usable github repo was a nice additional touch. If I had one suggestion, it would be to change the color on the code slides from blue to something else - the contrast is too weak, and it can be hard to read the blue on gray. Other than that, perfect!
