He's a community hero for a reason. Great advice for getting involved and helping to grow the community.
I was quite scared to migrate our core systems to php7 for testing and later perhaps production, but you made me think about it from a perspective of a challenge of learning new stuff. :) thank you
Inspiring speech! Made me think about doing something community related :)
Touching talk about the PHP Community and how to get involved into the PHP Community. Great tips how to get your local PHP Usergroup started.
I would like to see the slides or a summary of the tips where to advertise your Usergroup like the Zend Usergroup Directory (http://www.zend.com/en/company/community/local-php-user-groups).
Very well prepared with real world examples and superb pointing of what's important and what's not when creating a new stuff or need to refactor. It was a great workshop!
Adam Culp is Adam Culp, can not say anything about hist knowhow and speaker skills, he is awesome.
But this was not a workshop..
It was big (and sometimes boring) lecture (4+hours is just too long for listening someone speaking without any feedback or interaction with the audience).
Great speakers, with huge know-how on the given topic.
Thank you guys! You rock! :)
Great to see you guys in action. You've pointed out what's the most important in designing a domain and what isn't. It's good to know that thinking a lot before you type is OK, and that it's OK to be wrong and redo stuff. You gave me confidence.
By the way, you really do seem like an old marriage sometimes ;).
Anyway, the workshop was very eye-opening for me. I've learned a lot.
Thank you!
The talk was long, but interesting - no time wasted. I can't say I agreed with everything he said. For example, choosing one framework and sticking to it (I love digging into frameworks, how else would I choose my favourite? ;)). At the same time, I feel like I've learned a lot about being a professional in general. I'm definitely going to try out some of the tips he gave in my daily workflow.
He seems like a great guy. Listening to him was a pleasure.
Good look with the 100 miles, Adam! ;)
