Thanks for lunch, TheGuarantors!
Awesome talk with some great advice and considerations for successfully onboarding and ramping up in your next role
Lincoln has a very relaxed, yet professional presentation style that's grounded in his experiences in both engineering and tech leadership. This talk was full of great advice and a lot of high-level ideas about how teams operate and the role a staff engineer is meant to play (hint: it's not just super-senior!)
Another book recommendation: "The Staff Engineer's Path" by Tanya Reilly
Florian did a great job of explaining concurrency v parallelism (using pizza as an example, to boot!). This was my first introduction to the parallel extension, and was full of great examples.
I would echo Anna's feedback, please repeat questions for the stream.
Really great content about the PHP Foundation and its role.

I started without knowing what a Staff Engineer and left the same way. At the same time I learned a lot. This has uncovered a lot of missing information.
Great talk about being a Staff Engineer, and how that impacts what Engineers can do to work best with their team and have success.
Great talk!
