Really useful hearing the experiences James has been through with continuous delivery and deployment with analysis of areas that could be improved and how it was done. Concepts and examples were really clear.
Hadn't really touched on Feature Toggles before so I found the detail on them particularly helpful and the further reading recommendations were a bonus.
Talk was delivered confidently and flowed really well. Thanks!
Fantastic keynote. Hits you right in the feels. Slightly too much stuff actually felt like Gary was telling my story. Except that my name is not Gary ;)
Thanks Gary. Very well done. I could not think of anything you could've done to improve it, except adding my picture ;)
A funny, honest and moving keynote delivered with great style and entertainment value, and a fantastic way to finish the conference. Thanks Gary!
Good talk, lots of relevant information. The migration paths from PHP 5.x to 7 was of particular interest.
The talk was crazy and intriguing - i loved it. Learning about how PHP works internally was inspiring, along with tokeniser, parsing and AST. As expected the talk was delivered confidently and precisely with excellent examples, Derick passion for this subject really shone through.
Interesting to hear how debuggers hook into the abstract syntax tree, and the problems associated with branch code coverage.
A fascinating look at the internal workings of PHP.
Great talk, it's surprising the number of developers using PHPStorm nowadays and only using about 10-20% of it's potential. Refactoring is one of the great timesavers, so it was good to see these features in action along with details on how to use them. A bit more preparation would be in order next time, as a few of the demonstrations failed, which detracts somewhat from the useful information being shared.
Brilliant. Just brilliant.
A great idea and very well executed. Matt was great on being the story teller between the clips and its loose links on software development...
An interesting talk, with plenty of live demo'ing which certainly keeps things interesting. Talk felt as though some prior knowledge of Google Cloud would have been advantageous to understand a little more about what was going on in the demo. As an Amazon AWS user, a brief overview of Google Cloud and the services being used would have helped to improve interest.
Didn't really know what to expect from this talk but I wasn't disappointed. Picked up quite a few tips and tricks that I could take away and use. It was also nice to see some statistics of the before and afters in regards to optimisation.
