PHP Tek 2025 Review
I really enjoyed PHP Tek 2025. Eric, John, and the rest of the PHP Architect team put forth a great effort to deliver a high quality conference - and it shows. They foster a great sense of community. It’s a wonderful experience — both as a speaker and as an attendee. That’s why I’ve attended 3 times. I haven’t even boarded my flight home, and I’m already looking forward to next year.
I love Tek.
This was my second consecutive time at Tek. I really enjoy meeting new people and discovering that I’m not alone in my problems. The facilities are excellent. With a couple exceptions, I found the material to be very helpful and thought-provoking.
What really is a review without some less than positive feedback? If I had to point to one “negative,” I wish there was a little more time between talks. I realize that one can simply opt out of a session or just pop in whenever, but O think a little more time between sessions would be great. Would make everything feel less rushed.
Thanks to Eric, John, and all of the PHP Arch team for putting this together!! God willing, I look forward to seeing everyone next year.
I was told I should rate the conference in addition to individual talks. It was OK I guess ...
... Kidding. Tek is routinely one of the best conferences of the year not just for PHP but software in general. We have attendees and speakers from across the globe, an outstanding venue for socializing and connecting with friends, and a great surrounding locale for food and other events. I've been to "good" conferences on 4 continents over the past 20 years and Tek is, hands down, among the best.
This year was no different. Event sourcing, unit testing, mobile-native applications written in PHP, and even impromptu academic talks about graph theory and big-O notation made this well worth the investment. I have no notes, complaints, or gripes whatsoever except for the venue serving Pepsi instead of Coke.
And if that's the only negative feedback I can muster, you know the event was beyond amazing.
epic - needs more elephants
I thoroughly enjoyed this year's conference. I liked the new setup for the main room with the 'theater' lighting and I thought getting the baseball signed was a very clever way to do the sponsor booth visits.
