We may adopt a perspective of ownership around the code we write and maintain, the career path we find ourselves on, and our position in the community around us.
Intentionally shifting that perspective away from the ownership model to an alternative model can lead to finding opportunity where before there was frustration and finality.
And it can impact more that just our code. It can bring a powerful new perspective to our career, our community, and even this very conference.

A very zen view but one that resonates with me
I love the stewardship mental model, it's one I've tried to maintain at work for a long time now after an early mentor in my career exposed me to it. It's one I wish was more commonly advocated for in the industry, and Tim did so superbly!
Still a great talk after 2 years
Third time seeing this talk, and it keeps getting better. Any time someone talks about ownership at work (or worse, CODEOWNERS) I want to scream "STEWARDS!".
Great talk given with excellent delivery skills. Tim is engaging, motivating, and keeps the audience listening. Good job filling in last minute with this keynote!
Outstanding talk! Great focus on the temporal nature of all things. Loved the cloaked message of the gospel!!!
I think this is the third time I've seen this talk and it's always thought provoking.
This is an excellent talk, and I continue to be impressed with Tim’s style of delivery. He is always engaging and thought-provoking. A great way to kick off the conference.
I think I've seen this talk twice before I till get something out if it, thank you
still great after two years
Saw Tim give this one two years ago but it's still a great talk and seems to have been updated since. Great delivery and takeaways!
I've never felt so personally attacked but at the same time feeling so motivated.
Seriously though really powerful talk and had my attention from the start. Really hit me with he said you can feel relief while working your way through grief. Just one of the many thought provoking things I got from this talk.
As always, Tim did a fantastic job kicking things off and keeping everyone engaged. I had heard this talk once before, but he changed it enough that I felt like I was hearing it for the first time.
Delivered with real passion.
Really enjoyed Tim's spirit for taking over the keynote on short notice. I liked the theme of the talk alot. Tim became the ambassador of the conference for me as a virtual attendee.
