Well informed and presented. Great patience in the face of technical issues! The way Davey handles questions clearly show how much in depth knowledge he has.
Beth was direct and clear. I went in thinking "maybe there's something I can give back" and left thinking "I want to be an apprentice too". It did leave in my mind that it's a big commitment though so I want to know I have time before I try it myself.
The talk itself was a touch dry and maybe lacked examples, however at a meta level Beth was humourous and engaged well with the audience.

great talk lorna, good good content well presented. little off topic; i was surprised that you didnt entice the audience with the option of php7 in docker container.
Good talk, but I found it quite a depressing topic to start the conference with. At times it sounded like you had a bee in your bonnet, which isn't a bad thing in itself but it made it difficult for me to connect with. Felt more like a slap on the wrist rather than an inspirational or aspirational talk. Don't get me wrong, perfectly valid points, I just wonder if it could have been presented from a slightly different perspective to bring out the positives.
Presentation style might have benefitted from not reading word for word what was on the slides.
Plenty of confidence though, clear voice, obvious passion. Thank you!

Awesome. Clear application, and the live demo was great - even the failure of it proved a point about performance! Inspired me to apply this to a content project I'm working on.
Loved the humour, presentation style and confidence. Humility was also appreciated, made you sound more approachable and human, which encourages me to give it a try too.
I agreed with you on a fundamental level, but the entire talk was extremely negative, nagging, and guilt-inducing. I think much more benefit could have been brought from this talk if it focused on the positive aspect that having more women in computer science would bring.
