My first time at PHP Yorkshire and it was very enjoyable.

The venue itself is cool, I wish I had a bit more time to explore the pods and the rest of the space. The talks were a good mix of technical/non-technical, and there seemed to be a good mix of known/lesser-known and male/female speakers.

The lunch was really good, probably the best I've had at a conference. It was unfortunate that there was a fire alarm and I was on the last table to get food meaning I missed the talks after lunch. This did give me an opportunity to talk to the sponsors so it wasn't the end of the world.

The drinks options at the social were ok, though I managed to have the last Brewdog stout so it may make sense to ensure everything is stocked up before. This is a very minor nitpick though.

Overall a very well organised conference, thank you!

2nd PHPYorkshire and it was another great one. Great diversity of talk topics and awesome venue that was easy to get around.

My only constructive criticism would be there could've been a bit better communication around lunchtime, as I understand there was a fire alarm that added a slight delay anyway, it wasnt clear that lunchtime was going to be handled by calling people to queue table by table. So just added a bit of frustration at peak hangry-ness. But relatively minor.

Depending which side of the Ron Cooke Hub you approached by, one of the doors to enter the building wasnt in use, you had to go around to the other side of the building to enter. A sign just stating the direction to get to the entrance wouldve been nice.

But I'm really just grasping at straws to pick out these faults. Everything else about the conference was great. Next to no technical issues in the talks. It being in a university meant the lecture halls/rooms hosting the talks had space for notebooks so that made things a lot more comfortable.

Overall great experience and I'll be back again next year!

This was my first time at PHP Yorkshire and I had a great time!

The event was well organised and ran on schedule. I enjoyed listening to all the talks I went to. There was a good range of topics chosen for this event, and it was nice to have a decent male/female ratio of speakers. It was nice to see the talks being recorded, and the venue was great with plenty of spaces to chill out in between the talks. Lunch was delicious and there was plenty of food available. Oh, and the Yorkshire elephpants are awsum!

Had a great time catching up with many friends and meeting new ones, and playing Codenames at the social was a perfect and fun way to end the day. Loved the mad hats too :D

As for things that could be improved on, one minor thing was that it was a bit cold in the Bytemark room. Maybe some music and more board games at the social would be nice.

Overall, this was a great event and for the price - just excellent! Looking forward to the next year!
