phpBenelux Meeting september 2009

On tuesday 29th it is once again time for our monthly meeting. This month, our meeting is in Tilburg, at the offices of Freshheads. And Freshheads is not only hosting the event, but also sponsoring the drinks during the event and will even take us for a nice drink afterwards!

We have two speakers lined up for this event. We are very proud to have Juliette Reinders Folmer as our first speaker. She was one of the top speakers of the Dutch PHP Conference this year, and also did an excellent talk on Regular Expressions at our PHP BBQ this year. At this meeting, Juliette will host The Big "Why equal doesn't equal" Quiz. We all compare data on nearly every other line in our code, be it input validation, an if-statement, a switch or determining what to display and how.
So of course we are all expects on how to do these comparisons....
Come and join in on the Big "Why equal doesn't equal" Quiz and show us whether you are an expert or a n00b in disguise... !

Our second speaker is our secretary Stefan Koopmanschap, who will be speaking about integrating symfony and zend framework. These two popular PHP5 frameworks can be used aside from eachother but why would you limit yourself when you can combine the power of the two to create your ultimate project? Stefan will go into combining the frameworks in your project, whether your base framework is symfony or Zend Framework.
