I've been EXPLAINing everything since attending, and seeing the benefits in our apps already! Some really simple and effective advice there.
One thing that wasn't mentioned was using the smallest key size possible. I've seen plenty of people designing DB's use the default INT(11) PK's where TINYINT would easily suffice.
Overall I learnt heaps, thanks!
Really nice introduction for someone who hasn't had the chance to do any of this stuff. Good speaker, if a bit quiet at times. Very enjoyable.
I enjoyed this talk a lot, it showed me that I was most definitely not using Xdebug to its full potential. Was also very nice to have the author giving the talk! Very good speaker too.
This was a pretty good talk, with an interesting solution. I will have to try it out, if I can get my head around it! Hopefully the documentation will be good and full! The talk was fairly hard to keep up with at times due to the language switching. I was unsure why Akihito started in English (which I found relatively easy to understand) and then switched to Japanese? I found that while there was the translation, it usually broke the sentences up into a few parts which made it harder to follow.

Very interesting talk. Very accessible to a noob such as myself. Way to go Lorna...on the talk and the book!
Did well with the hangover session :) Interesting topic, but not sure I fully understood everything due to the early morning, or maybe more detail was required. If I can see the slides again I can probably provide better feedback.
Found out a few features of xdebug I didn't know about, which was useful. Scream setting I will probably be using in the future. Derick is a good speaker and I always enjoy listening.
Good overview of xdebug, xhprof and New Relic. Would have preferred a bit less on New Relic since I'm not likely to use it due to the cost, and a bit more on xdebug. A real example of how to improve performance in an application would have been useful too. Talk was well delivered though, thanks.
Lorna is a good speaker, she keeps the audience engaged and explains things well.
The curl usage was useful to me, since I haven't in the past tended to use it due to my thoughts on the PHP interface. I usually use the lwp-request command in Linux, but curl could be a useful accomplice. I initially thought Charles proxy would not be useful to me, but actually I can see it being very useful in a mobile environment where you can rewrite requests.
I also agree with a comment I saw above, fiddler might've been worth a mention for Windows users, and for debugging old IE (becoming less of a concern now).
