This was a great workshop. It reminded me about all the things I keep meaning to do, but never seem to get around to.
The intro to docker was wonderful. Chris did a great job of giving us the info we needed to understand what docker was doing, and how to use it.
We never did get a print copy of the book, but if we get an e-book at some point, that would be fine with me.
Well done, and learned a lot.
Arne and Sebastian did a great job leading this class. I learned many things that I should be doing to save myself from eventually making mistakes while deploying.
They covered how to deploy multiple versions of code at once, but not activating the new code until you're ready. I wish there could have been a follow-up class to go over how to manage the update process when you have to deal with databases, as I know there can be many gotchas with that.
It was a good talk and somewhat inspirational to hear about his journey. However, this is another situation where I think the title could have been less misleading... I thought we would have been talking abut hacking at some point, not an hour long talk about traversing the AT and some minor correlations between that and software dev.
Alena had a great presentation and a lot of thought points to take away and back to our jobs and normal lives. Seemed like it may have been her first time with this presentation deck? Flubbed a few times (and mispronounced Maya Angelou's name) but I can't say that I would have done better. lol
Surprisingly good talk actually considering I have next to no interest in MTG. It was nice to hear about the troubles that they faced and were able to overcome. Would have been nice to hear more in-depth of how they managed to overcome some of the hurdles that they faced, especially to get where they are now.
Talk was amazing. I am waiting for the speaker to post the slides.
This was the right topic, the right presentation, to round off the week. Leave us with skills, tools, and motivation to make use of what we gained here. Thank you.
If I were a bot, I could spam 5-star ratings for this talk.
Sadly, my human emotions are preventing that sort of thing.
