It's 2017 and times have changed – yet PHP is still most often associated with your average product catalog or blogging platform. In this talk you will learn that PHP's huge ecosystem has way more to offer and PHP is not inferior at all to its evil cousin Node.js.

You will learn about the core concepts of async PHP and why you too should care about ReactPHP being a real thing. The talk has a strong focus on sparking the idea that PHP can be way faster and more versatile than you probably thought. Bring along an open mind and through lots of examples and demos learn why what sounds crazy at first might soon be a valuable addition in your toolbox.

Crammed a lot in, maybe too much as demos felt a little rushed. I'm going to follow up and find out more though, so a worthwhile talk.

Having never used reactphp the talk gave me quite a good starting point to help me go out and investigate further.

Looking forward to trying it out

Very detailed and concise, with the right amount of humour!

Great presentation of the potential of ReactPHP. I didn't get full mark, because I thought the demo could have been better; it was a chat application that needed other people to connect to it. No device === no participation to the demo.

Well paced and structured talk.

Code examples were gone over a bit too quick to be of any value during the talk but great to be able to refer back to.

Really good overview of reactPHP and I'm glad I attended, made me feel embarrassed I didn't know ReactPHP.

Really enjoyed hearing about the project, and how versatile it can be. Demos were useful to demonstrate the potential. Thanks!

Really great - showed what React can do without just being the typical HTTP server demo. Lots of applications of event loops that I hadn't considered.

Christian provided just the right amount to get me excited about using ReactPHP, looking forward to trying it out!

Demos were great, showing real-life practical applications for using it in production (and when to not).

Interesting talk, interesting project, nice presentation. I did find a number of the examples quite similar and would have appreciated maybe fewer of them and an example of something a bit more complex.
