Excellent, well-presented talk! The references to using bcrypt and mcrypt to do hashing and encryption the right way were a nice touch, something I feel is still a bit underpromoted in the PHP community. My only suggestion is to list an instance or two of each particular vulnerability being exploited in the wild. For instance, you mentioned LinkedIn off-hand during the hashing point. I think this would help drive home the point that these things are real and not just theoretical.
Nice. I just signed up today myself :)
Fun talk.
As very much a Doctrine n00b, the topics outlined will be good to be aware of as I learn more about this ORM. Perhaps a few examples of inefficient real examples with real workarounds would be a nice addition.
Informative, engaging presentation with very well chosen real-world examples to illustrate each point. Every PHP developer should see the advice in this talk, it will change how you see your code!
Great talk with splendid interaction using a buzzword bingo game!
Hint: use pre-recorded videos to give demos as network and/or projector resolutions might completely ruin your presentation
A little rough start but good overall. Maybe a few to many questions at the beginning which time could of been used to dive deeper into the specifics that were glossed over.
Entertaining and informative. It's saying out loud what that little voice in the back of every developer's head is pestering them with all the time.
Interesting talk. Brett is clearly passionate about his subject.
I don't count since I'm a foxycart fanboi but I thought Brett was all kinds of awesome. :)
