Well done, fun, and entertaining presentation.
Left without a very clear understanding of how this is different from other web conferencing systems and what kind of resources it takes to put something like this into place. They made it sound rather simple but I suspect that there a lot of hidden costs that were not really talked about.
Loved meeting other VCL users.
Covered a lot of ground, but stayed too much on a conceptual level. Agree with Anonymous that a more practical walk through would have been great addition. Still, very helpful reorientation for how to manage a project.
Interesting to see where things are going in the network and data management fields. Most of it was not directly related to my own field of work so I am not sure how fair it would be to rate it. The speaker was clear, stayed on message and lots of good slides which kept my attention.
Some good info regarding who is doing what on different campuses. Wish there had been more explanation as to why Drupal was chosen. The easy to implement social networking component was not emphasized as much as I would have expected, since this is such a hot web topic these days. Also the amount of work involved in 'theming' a site was not explored much either.
The willingness of the discussion leaders to act as resources and share what they have learned (post conference) was good news for some of us at least. Thanks guys.
Well done. Some aspects of the Bain report are quite concerning but it is important that those of us not directly involved with its implementation know what is going on and how it may affect us.
