It is pretty hard to believe that this was the first time this conference was put on. In my opinion, things went smoothly and orderly. The food was very good and it seemed like there was something for everyone (even people that don't eat gluten). I think the only thing I would change would be the Thursday night happy hour would start right after the talks (5pm instead of 6pm). The hour for dinner was not enough and perhaps would be better after drinks? I agree that venue was a very good choice. Good job guys. Proud to be a member of SDPHP.
Great event overall. Very happy I was able to join. The venue was excellent, weather was perfect. Meals provided were great.
The speakers were all engaging and gave helpful talks. I particularly enjoyed the SOLID talk and the maintainable software talk. I would have liked to have seen a higher mixture of advanced concepts as well as software design fundamentals applied in PHP.
I had a really great time! I thought the content was perfect as well as the location and environment. The only thing that could be improved on would be more communication about what was going on outside of the sessions (i.e. breakfast and social events). Thanks for an awesome experience!
The location was perfect (lunch on the beach = perfect San Diego experience!). Sessions were informative. Wish some of the scheduling was a little more explicit (such as social hours/happy hours being on the calendar ahead of time). Loved how there was free parking for locals. Will definitely be back!
This was a great conference! Excellent location (can't really beat San Diego) and especially excellent speakers. For a first conference, especially fantastic!
Really enjoyed this. The organizers did an amazing job for a first year conference. Plus you can't beat the location. Looking forward to next year!

- proximity to other stuff
Needs improvement:
- Keep evening event right after talks so people don't leave
- Offer incentive for attendees to interact with sponsors
- Easier access to Dr. Pepper
- Less rushed at the end
- More raffle prizes if possible
- Higher attendence
The venue was really nice -- eating lunch on the beach was a very nice touch. There were lots of places to go after the talk near the hotel with great ocean views. Good selection of speakers overall -- wouldn't have minded seeing a few more "advanced" talks. Definitely a "looking forward to next year" conference.
I enjoyed this conference a lot. I'll be back!
