Talk comments

I want to start by saying I appreciated the honesty at the beginning of the talk -- we were warned that this would be more of a "soft" talk, which allowed anyone looking for something different to go to another lecture. I stayed, and I'm glad I did. We were given three scenarios where a project went off the rails and how the speaker (and the agency for which she works) dealt with it. While none of the ideas discussed was a major revelation, it was not a problem. The scenarios were presented as "lessons learned", which allowed these concepts to be reinforced as "best practice" behavior. The speaker was very engaging and was happy to answer questions.

Excellent preparation for the exam, especially covering the basic "tricky" questions... This session definitely helped pass this exam.

Excellent talk which not only explained the importance of communicating expectations, but also demonstrated the process in the talk itself with clear answers to questions and practical, real world examples. Good stuff for anyone doing professional software development.

Great presentation! Lot of energy and very informative.

As a new lead I found myself relating to all of the issues discussed that arise during the development/release process. It was very nice to have real world (obfuscated) examples/solutions from a professional engineer that cares about her craft.

Highly motivating and well spoken session.

Wonderful talk. Great real world discussion of what can go wrong and how not to panic to fix it.
