Was a good talk with great information. Was hard to stay focused during the death-by-powerpoint, but good details were presented.

Thanks!

While the X-protocol was interesting, the speaker didn't get into the details of how it worked. Seemed like a very haphazard presentation. Even if the tools to use this protocol in PHP was available, the talk itself missed much on describing how the implementation works in the DB.

Had enough time left to go watch another presentation

To Alex Corbeil: I don't think I showed any OO examples--is this the talk you were reviewing?

@christian, thanks for the feedback. I saw you in the audience and knew the talk wouldn't be technical enough for you (advanced developer). For more about the PHP Toolkit to call RPG programs, here are my slides on that topic: http://www.slideshare.net/aseiden/new-php-toolkit-from-zend-and-ibm-open-source-on-ibm-i

Really enjoyed this one, thanks Cal!

Learned about the X Protocol, which I didn't have time to check previously.

Brandon is one of the very few people who can take a complex concept and explain it to anyone. I really enjoyed this.

Great info, I overcame the dryness of the delivery because of the content.

Very engaging talk, and knowledgeable speaker.

Uncle Bob was awesome, as usual. I struggle teaching my teammates these concepts and move the "model" away from the MVC paradigm into DDD mindset, which totally fits the architectural perspective of the speaker.
