A great and engaging talk as always. Lots of good advice.
Great talk with humor, and loads of information about better practices for coding in PHP.
Nice test, debug, and tool tips. Lots to check out.
You are amazing. Anyone who hasn't had the privilege of listening to Elizabeth is missing out. Tons of great information.
The delivery was a little scattered and a little difficult to follow but I did like the fact that you covered the basics such as Promises and multiplexing.
The examples shown for promises weren't exactly clear what library or concept you were using however - this could be helpful to the attendees. In addition it was a little difficult to determine what examples you were showing ReactPHP, Icicle etc. Since it was labeled a ReactPHP framework I would have liked to have seen all the examples focused on that great, amazing and fantastic library (obvious bias =)).
There was also some information wasn't accurate - I cannot remember the exact specifics but my ears did perk a few times. One example I recall was some mention of problems with using MySQL in an asynchronous fashion. I am using MySQL asynchronously with ReactPHP with tremendous success - there are libraries out there.
I would be happy to discuss it further, feel free to track me down.
While you presented some good concepts, and had some good advice, it was so interspersed with vitriolic comments about how his opinions are righteous and true that it was hard to find myself agreeing with Larry. Advice: change your tone so you're not calling everybody stupid throughout your talk. Think about how many command phrases you use. Literally you just asked everyone to raise their hand, "has anyone ever done X?", the "do you know how bad that is?" The way you present your message makes me loathe you.
I really enjoyed this talk. It's refreshing to listen to a speaker who has been in the trenches and knows what they are speaking about.
As a fan of asynchronous programming in PHP I feel there should have more focus on the basic concepts, such as multiplexing (a lot of people don't know what that means). Additionally Promises are at the heart of async programming - any async talk should at least cover this topic IMO.
The cadence of the talk was great and your clearly very knowledgable.
Lots of great information about ZF3.
Excellent talk. Good material and great presentation.
