Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned, but is a keynote talk really the right place for swearing? Makes me doubt anything I'm being "taught"

Keynote was a great insight into people, management and improvement, thanks.

Great opener. Nice tone setting.

Awesome talk, as someone on the 'management' side of the fence there was a huge amount for me to take on board.

Dave Jennings at 10:49 on 3 Oct 2015

Not what I was expecting - excellent talk. As a development manager it provided food for thought and was good fun. Great, passionate speaker.

Excellent talk.

Now I know the names of things I was bad at as a manager, and I recognise where I think I am now.

A great talk and could't be more applicable to every business who employ and manage staff

excellent talk that had something relevant for everyone at a personal level or a company as to how it should treat its people. managed to be funny and informative

Very relatable & inspiring!

Brilliant talk, great energy, really set the tone. A lot to take in, will be reading up for a while!

Loved this keynote, i find it hard to find good resources on team leading and management, and this talk was absolute gold for things that relate to that.

Great opening talk

Enjoyed. Plenty of food for thought.

So much stuff I can relate to in this talk, thanks

Interesting talk, certainly something to watch back on the videos and consider further

An interesting insight into people management.

Mark Bradley at 13:38 on 3 Oct 2015

interesting and fun start to the conference.

Amused at the of the insights I recognised into managers that I've had, and embarrassed at some of the traits I recognised in myself as a manger... avoiding the more obvious pitfalls of the phb in Dilbert can only take you so far, but this advised on some of the less obvious failings to avoid.

Amusing and insightful in equal parts; and provided a few references for future reading

Simply great insights into people, really. Loved the scientific approach and the pointers for further reading, the explanations of the different styles of learning and approaches to management.

As far as I'm concerned there's much room for improvement in our industry and I certainly think knowing something about the theory behind it might actually help (a lot!)

Thanks for sharing!

Great talk

so much nodding and recognition...
most of the concepts explained can be applied to many situations and environments, good use of the stage and audience. some great insights (:

so much nodding and recognition...
the 'AI' parts felt a little like an add-on, might've done with some more attention.

Fantastic opening talk, full of useful advice on managing and motivating people in a team. Also, loved Meri's presentation style - good start to the day.

Superb talk - a lot of food for thought as a manager - thanks Meri

Really awesome keynote. I took away quite some interesting lessons from this and I've added some books to my reading list after this one. Thank you very much.

Great talk and has given me lots to think about as I spend more of my time in a team lead role supporting other developers.
Now to go and buy a couple of the recommended books...

Great talk on what we can learn about people form AI. Especially liked the talking style that Meri has.

What a way to start a conference. I now have lots of new reading material to get through, as well as knowledge of the right things that help to grow and nurture those in an organisation. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Great start to the conference with a great perspective on the people beyond the programming.

Fantastic energy and drive to start the conference. Meri says it like it is and gets straight to the point. I learned a lot from this talk.

Very entertaining and informative talk, the speaker definitely knows how to kick start a conference!

Great talk.
Please link the slides.

An incredibly well presented, funny and insightful look into the lessons we learn about people from artificial intelligence and robots. I find this to be especially interesting as it seems like a complete role reversal. One would expect us to use our 'human knowledge' to better create robots and AI, it was incredibly interesting to see that we can also flip this and learn people lessons from AI.

I always find these type of talks interesting. I think the point was that humans are not robots, so you cant manage them like that?

I will be using the purpose, autonomy, mastery and inclusion principles definitely!

Thanks Meri!

Fantastic talk. Great speaker. Really engaging.

Amusing and interesting, took lots from this and enjoyed it very much.

Interesting and fun opening talk. Should be watched by all, not just devs!
Included 'best cat gif on the internet', which was a bonus :)

Good talk and well delivered
