With some of the recent issues that occurred with cloud platform providers, many businesses are wondering whether they can leverage multiple cloud platforms for their solutions. In this intense session we'll do exactly that and set up cloud architecture over multiple cloud platforms that include:
- Load balancer
- Caching servers
- Database servers
- File servers
- Web servers
Once we've set up our environment, we'll deploy a PHP application and test out performance and redundancy.

Session was a live demo of step-by-step setup of a stack on Digital Ocean. While this is interesting, it doesn't match the advertised session description. I was interested in learning about strategies to failover among cloud platforms. That info was not to be found here.
While Ahmed was a good speaker, this session didn't focus on multi-cloud setups. It was mostly focused on installing software on Ubuntu instances for just Digital Ocean.
Live demo's are always hard; most of the talk was quiet, waiting for services and and installations.
Ahmed's got a great voice for presentations, just need to do more prep and tighten the content up so the audience isn't spending so much time waiting.
Ahmed is a good speaker, but the content in this session needed a lot smoother run-through. The presentation was a live setup on Digital Ocean, and I feel that was a fairly needless waste of time. We get that its fairly easy to purchase and initialize various cloud services, so simple screenshots prepared in advance would have saved valuable time there and allowed for more attention on what the services are, why you want them, and how you should use them.
I only caught how "multiple clouds" could be utilized once and it was in regards to a question from the audience. As many have already stated, this was nothing more than a demo of getting a bunch of servers up and running in Digital Oceans cloud environment. Since Ubuntu Linux was used, the same thing could have been done using any servers (cloud or otherwise) running Ubuntu. I was looking for more cloud-specific technologies to be shown and specific to the deployment aspect of the process instead of getting servers ready for deployment.
This felt like it could have been done on your own as a Digital Ocean step-by-step written tutorial.
