I've been using Git for a long time, and was already comfortable with several advanced topics. Going in, I was concerned that it might be too simple, or that I wouldn't get as much as I would have liked from it.
I needn't have worried, though, because Lorna managed the audience brilliantly, catering to all skill levels, and covering a startling amount of content. She always explains everything in a clear way, so that nothing is confusing, and few words are wasted.
Great workshop and I learned a lot, especially about rebasing and rescue killed commits aka ref-log.
And what was great is, that you repeated every asked question. I don't know any speaker who does it all the time, most forget it after repeating the first...
Great tutorial session. I think you got the content spot on for the "advanced" title and made an excellent bridge between how the more advanced options are used along side the basic core commands.
I really enjoyed this talk and learned a lot. It really reassured me that there is always a way out even of the scariest mistakes.
Everything was explained very well and I don't think I came away with anything that I didn't 'get'.
It was also great that the tutorial was tailored for who was in the room and the topics we wanted to cover. Great job.
Yep cracking stuff, great initial "things you should know", then a democratic look at topics that the group wanted to know about.
Made loads of notes and fully got what Lorna was talking about.
The only constructive feedback I would give is the exercises relied on you knowing the git commands or having made loads of detailed notes, that said Lorna was more than willing to help those who were stuck.
