As software engineers it is sometimes too easy to forget the impact that our code has on the environment. We build for changeability, speed and hopefully quality, but we forget about sustainability. The time to act is now. It is time for us to take responsibility and to write more sustainable tech. In this talk I will talk about things we can do to write more energy efficient code. I will also talk about hosting your code more sustainably. And last but not least… I will share the software architecture needed to build greener applications using message queues in PHP.

Interesting content, though the talk would've fit a 30 minute slot much better, with a bit more detail in a few sections (bonus points for sample code).
I might riff off of this for something local since, for example, Texas has *massive* swings in renewables usage, and my bet is that due to the associated electricity costs at wholesale big companies are likely doing adjustments under the hood already.
Really important and good to point out how better performance is good for more than just speed.
Thank you so much for the talk. I think this is a super important topic. I think my only feedback would be that it was a little short but that was also nice to have some extra "down" time.
Talk was pretty short; I think there could've been more examples applying the information in the presentation to help with time and engagement.
Interesting topic! It was good reminder that we can have a larger impact, with the code we write. I would have liked to see a little more depth and examples of where code could be more sustainable.
