Over the years, the PHP community has enjoyed an increase in events. This has given us more choice than ever over what we attend. At the same time, some of our favourite events have come to a close.
As the community recalibrates, needs have changed and events are repeatedly being challenged. Organisers are burdened with finding the solutions, but is there a way for us all to help?
With change comes an opportunity for growth. This is our chance to grow richer and stronger as a community.

Loved the German UG history! Great intro for conf & later involvement in the community!
Thanks for sharing all this interesting ideas about user groups here in Germany and in general.
Thanks for sharing, motivated me to take a look at our local usergroups again :)
Great to see the german usergroup history and where other usergroup organizers are struggeling with.
Also great to get the importance of volunteers underlined.
Great talk. I like the mixture of back-padding for all community members, as well as the call to action for everyone else. Also the idea with the interactive twitter game is definitely something I need to copy :D

Very inspiring talk. Before I attended the local user group, I didn't know what community driven actually means.
Very great talk with a surprising but nice interaction using Twitter ?
Thank you for taking us behind the scenes of meetup organizing.
Great talk, a little bit too fast paced here and there but content was structured in a good way. Learned a lot of the history of the German UG's ;)
Thank you for creating this talk about the community, user groups and their effort in keeping meetups alive.
It contained information about the history of German user groups and what efforts are put into them by the organizers and what they said about how a user group can be supported or make their organization easier. Jenny also made everyone with a Twitter account use the #phpdd18 hashtag to answer simple question. This was a good example for the easiest way to support an event or conference just by spreading the word.
The #phpdd18 hashtag had to be in the trending topics on Saturday, because some Twitter bots were using it for other unrelated purposes (like they always do with trends).
