Fast paced, good information and fun. Perhaps a bit too fast a pace at times, but it might have been Friday afternoon getting to me.
A very good introduction to unit testing and how to think on it, particularly how it can be thought of as an integral part of development, it being a sort of pre-emptive debugging. I also liked the initial steps on how to start using it with exiting code.
Great talk, plenty of food for thought to take away from it. It was also rather entertaining. The Q&A was really good too.
@Georgiana Gligor:
Perhaps it would be good to include the traffic controller you use in the slides and some alternatives you would consider.
The intro was a bit long winded, but it was a good talk.
I had heard about some of the servers presented about, but it was good to see how much can performance be improved in some cases and what the rationale is about on the whole.
I sort of missed whether anyone uses these in production anywhere and what issues had been encountered with these when building/running apps specifically with these servers in mind and how they were resolved. It would be a nice addition to the slides.
Very good, calm delivery and engaging at the same time. Great as always :)
Another highlight talk from PHP UK, really engaging and thought provoking on how your code is actually being translated. Would have been good to have a little on performance (although would have needed more time). Definitely felt like this could have benefited from being in one of the larger rooms as a very busy over-spill missed out on the benefit of having the speaker present. Still, a great presentation on an oft overlooked topic.
One of the standout talks of the event for me, really inspiring look to where we as PHP Dev's could be heading, and definitely ideas to play with right away. Very engaging and well paced presentation.
Enjoyed this positive look to the future, a great opener to the event, which has certainly encouraged me to try to get more involved.
Good talk and a tool I will try out. I've also signed up for Freeks newsletter and the blog is now in my bookmarks ;)
Being My first PHP conference. It was encouraging to hear Eli give a message of hope to the community.
