Actually, DI doesn't appear to be that difficult at all, at least not after this clear talk about what they are exactly.
I've never really considered using Google App Engine before, but Ian and Maindy certainly made the case for it without this talk becoming a sales pitch.
Great speakers and a great talk. The real world example of reproducing Joind.in was the perfect hook to show just how easy it could be to migrate current apps over.
Take away is that we will certainly be exploring this service in the future.
The split screen approach was a good solution to the room size problem, and it was great to see it work so well. I liked the talk as an opening keynote because there was something for a wide range of audiences. Next year can we get holograms? :)
Great keynote. Really interesting topic which both speaker were obviously passionate about. It certainly gave me food for thought and I'm looking forward to reading the book Lorna plugged ;)
Great session on how to use the Symfony 2 tool set to wrap up legacy code into best practices. My only issue with the afternoon was trying to rush out code that may only be on the screen for a few seconds as Andreas would move to another part to continue the talk.
A finished version in the Git repo, or a final copy to work from so that the code on screen wasn't required to be up as long would have helped.
Apart from that, it was really well delivered and Andreas was a great instructor.
Great talk, it really helped clear up some of the "why" behind optimising MySQL. Adrian was a really good speaker and clearly knew his stuff.
I can only repeat Steve's comment, its a shame that the start of the session was plagued with technical issues which ate into the time and meant the end of the talk had to be rushed.
Look forward to seeing the slides at some point to go over them again.
The talk was interesting. Fonts and images could be way bigger.
Really liked the split screen.
Speaker wasn't that engaging, but to his credit it was an interesting talk with easy to follow examples. Bit short considering the allocated time but content that was there was very good.
A good talk. Lots of useful interesting things covered.
As another commenter has said so of the things about Googling/stackoverflowing was a bit too simple.
The split screen worked quite well.
Lorna spoke and presented really well but I feel Ivo paced about the stage far too much whilst talking.
