Talk comments

Good mix of introduction and deeper tips and tricks, at least for me. I thought the topics Helgi covered were pertinent to most of the audiences needs. He showed alternatives between good and better config settings. A suggestion I have is to always indicate on the "okay, but not great" approach slides that a better approach (usually on the next slide) exists. He did this on some slides, but not all. A great presentation.

Michelangelo has an infectious passion for the PHP community. The only downside to this talk was the time of day ... Michelangelo was a little more low key than normal.

The topics discussed were simple and easy to understand. It seemed like a first step to taking a site mobile. I think I was expecting more because of the name of the talk.

I think this should have been stated that it should be first step in taking your site mobile. Especially because much of the examples were hiding what's already there. So you are still downloading a lot of data and then hiding it.

However, Ian did a good job in his talk and knows his subject matter.

Really enjoyed seeing all the nginx examples and SSL discussion

I'm completely new to nginx and you've sold me on the idea of trying it. A great presentation. Thanks.

This was a very informative talk for me as someone who has not worked with nginx yet. I think a little too much time was spent on the ssl portion, but I thought it was worth it, and I imagine security could be an entire presentation in itself. Great variety of config examples and well laid-out slides.

Good talk. Speaker was knowledgeable. Would have liked to see more about usages of Nginx. Especially when the audience asked for this at the beginning of the talk.

Another good in-depth presentation with helpful slides and bit.ly bundle.

I did notice from your tutorial day talk and this one, you tend to talk to the screen a lot during your presentation, which puts your back to half or all of the audience most of the time you're speaking. I can understand occasionally pointing to the screen in direct relation to something you're saying but it seems like you're watching the presentation along with us at times. If you need to see your slides to keep yourself on track, just take a step back and look at your computer screen so your face stays forward. I know a lot of people don't like being behind the podium, but standing next to it can't hurt. ;)

Great talk! It covered *every* aspect of community. Michaelangelo was informative and motivating.
