Great talk, wasn't aware of beats yet :)
The talk was quite basic. Not many takeaways for me.
The talk had some great points about taming legacy. The talk was very specific to the stack of the project in question, but I would have gotten more out of the talk if it was more generic. However, I learned how risky these things are, to not rush taming legacy and to measure everything.
The talk was insanely interesting and had great examples. I wanted to hear more about the drawbacks of animation on the web, for example it can make the website feel slower if you’re not careful. On the other hand it sparked my interest for animation again and I want to start exploring it soon.
Loved the burrito!
The risotto with chicken was inedible, the vegetarian lasagne was barely edible. ?
It was very entertaining and had a lot of variety through many examples. I don’t see how the problem is specific to software, new tools will always make us less capable to use the old tools. Socrates was also complaining about young generations, so I believe that discussion is as old as time. I was expecting a positive spin or more practical advice, some kind of a takeaway (I’m reviewing this late, so I might have forgotten). But the speaker is definitely right about these things and I enjoyed the talk.
great talk
I always thought that devops are doing nothing all day but look at dashboards on one screen and watch movies like Passengers on the other. This talk proved me wrong about at least one screen’s content.
Kinda too basic to me
