Great session! Alan shows his expertise with DB2 and PHP in a way that's easily digestable. As an intermediate developer his instruction level was perfect for me. I was neither lost nor bored at any point. I also appreciate all of the rules of thumb like "Always use parameterized queries" and the like.

Great overview of vagrant+puppet. Full set of examples with good explanation. I'm excited to download and use/extend John's project skeleton.

Excellent. Clear, informative, authoritative. Especially helpful is access to the generic project skeleton (with Vagrantfile and Puppet manifests/classes, etc) he provides via Github.

Will definitely look for more talks by John.
