Really great and understandinle talk.
I have no experience with websockets itself, but you did add my curiosity for more.
Well done
Nice talk, got some new info about websockets, will try some of the stuff for sure
Presentation skills could be better, speaker was a little bit nervous and lacked speaking experience

Really enjoyed the demos and the examples. The introduction to the protocol and the reasons behind it was probably a bit too long - I think you expressed the core ideas well, but pushing through that section faster would not hurt at all. I would also consider putting the slide about the use cases somewhere nearer the start, as it provides a good context for the types of real world problems that comet does a bad job with. Overall really enjoyed the talk, and the use of ZeroMQ and Node.js with PHP was very well done, definitely made the talk more practical than many websockets introductions.
I think it was maybe a little to long on the first (theoric) part. As a developer I certainly wanted to see more code and samples, but anyway the talk was very clear and pleasant as usual.
Great talk! Very inspiring and practical.
For me the tempo of the talk could gain a bit though.
Way too long intro of "the web"/http, after that it was great!
big topic, far too little time for it. thanks for the starting points
really enjoyed the talk, a lot of key concepts introduced
As already said here. The intro of web sockets was to long. But after all a good talk!
The intro was indeed a bit too long, ... too bad there was no time left for the other examples at the end. Very interesting topic, this should have been two slots ;-)
Yep, the intro on HTTP could be skipped (as we SHOULD all know about this) but the story was very clear. The examples were clear and I quite liked the topic. A workshop would be awesome!
Great talk, learned a lot!
Great talk, with a good (working!) example :-)
Maybe some more examples next time..
Nice talk
Too bad you didn't get around to all of the examples, the http intro should be cut short
The talk wasn't too bad but since I'm toying around with node.js/socketio I know a lot of things could be handled better than the examples given in the talk.
great talk! could not wait to get home and start playing with these websockets myself!
Frank Desmettre: If there's anything specific that could be improved in the examples, I'd really like to see a pull-request or ticket on the github repo: https://github.com/igorw/websockets-talk.
You showed knowledge and passion in this talk, and your demo was absolutely great.
But try to rehearse your talk a couple of times to match the given time, including Q&A. Another thing, you know this stuff so don't be nervous about it. You'll see it works out OK.
