Thanks Drupal Camp Bristol for inviting me to talk.
It's great to get talks like this at a CXO day - to hear views on what representatives of a sector feel they need from open source and why. I liked the way Alison and Ian had identified how FOSS and how, given limited budget, they'd done a great job in building something very lean. Alison clearly had grasped at a level of detail what she'd built and why - and it's great to see end users/client have this understanding of Drupal at a product level.
Lots of commonality with my talk, but Luke gives a potential rallying call we can all work to 'No one ever got sacked for using Drupal' and suggested some ways in which we can co-operate to make Drupal a no brainer of a choice, which are worth further exploration.
Good to be able to hear both sides of the story in a very honest way. The way YHA/Microserve work together the same as how we aim to do it at miggle with our client partners.
Quote of the day re Perl! Great talk - very entertaining and insightful. I liked how he talked about the various levels of engagement needed across all levels of community.
Worth the admission money alone, in that there where a load of really great succinct takeaways on this subject, which are much needed - as a lot of people need to get their ducks in a row for this - and next May will be here before we know it. Really appreciated the level of effort that went into researching this talk.
Well worth hearing Jam's thoughts on how the Drupal Community establishes it its 'why' going forward, in light of the little issuette the community suffered this Spring.
Bit above my head - but presented in a clear and straightforward way.
