I like really how Matthias put such complex thing in simple yet powerful workshop. Such nice way to explain key concepts of async communication. There were small things that were popping, but in general well done workshop.

Thijs is a great speaker and he's aware of that. Maybe a bit too much aware of it ;).

Good introduction about DI. Great to see differences between frameworks. Hannes is a excellent speaker.

Great talk. Both the basics of the mathematical theory and a working PHP implementation explained.

Excellent speaker and a real Symfony expert.

Very interesting and also exciting, but Kibana should have been mentioned in the description.

Hi Ramon. I hope I didn't give the impression that Platform.sh > Docker always, as that wasn't the intent. Platform, Docker, Flatpack, etc. all use the same underlying tools (namespaces plus abstraction layers) to constrain processes, but do so in different ways that have different pros and cons. Platform's model works really well for production hosting, but I would never try to use it for local one-off tools. Docker excels at local one-off tools, but has limitations when trying to do the kind of hosting that Platform.sh does. For "I want to try out this new server program I've heard about and not pollute my local computer configuration", Docker is probably the best tool available. That doesn't make it the best tool for all things, just as Platform.sh isn't the best container design for all things. That's the point I was trying to make.

Very inspiring and I liked the energy in the talk a lot.
But I do not agree with everything. Some people are not presented with the chances or do not have the ability to take the chances you are talking about. This can be influenced by a wide variety of factors. Although, in my experience, these people are not the ones complaining and you certainly have a point about that.
Also, I do not like the harsh guy at all, you've shown several videos of. Although I do agree with him, it is way too harsh and could be hurtful for people who do not have the opportunities or abilities. I feel those videos add nothing to the point you are trying to make.
Also, about the part where the "disaster struck": It must have been very difficult and you have my sympathies for that, but the image shown, to me suggested it was a lot worse. Also realize that everybody has their own share of disaster stories, which are impossible to compare, and from your story there is the danger of people feeling guilty to have a difficult time with disasters happening to them. I'm not saying this is what you mean to imply, but there is the danger of people interpreting it that way.

Samantha is a great speaker and it was great to get inspired by her. I like her very visual way of speaking (Without having any fancy slides!), she really paints a picture with words! Sometimes this goes a bit over the top; for me the story about the bridge was a bit too long and not related enough (I get the point she tries to make, but I think she could have made her point in a shorter time).
I think Samantha is a talented speaker and with some small changes to the amount of information she shares, this has the potential of being an even better and more inspiring talk. It was a great opening for the conference!
