Great overview and coherent to an OOP newbie/confu-bie, so bravo!
Very powerful talk. Programmers are often frustrated that people are so much harder to predict than machines, but Samantha explained how empathy can help shed light on their "mysterious" ways. The pace seemed intentional - after many statements, a bit of silence helped me digest what had just been said. The disclaimer at the beginning was a good idea, to warn the listener that things were about to get real. Great job.
Amazing talk :) Thank you for sharing it with us. I really enjoyed it, and got a lot out of it.
Great talk Samantha! I greatly appreciated the material you presented along with sharing your story with us. I do strongly agree that this is a topic we need to talk more about in our field, and it is great to see others opening up and sharing.
In terms of general feedback... I think the content was great, you do a great job presenting, and I found your sense of humor great. If there was anything constructive I could provide it was that you tend to pace a lot when you get into your personal stories. It didn't take away from the power of your presentation, just came across as if you were thinking about what you were about to share.
Glad you both enjoyed the talk. I am working on getting slides and information from my talk online shortly. Will post more details soon.
I really enjoyed hearing your story. I must admit that I recognized many aspects of myself in this talk. Thank you for being so open!
Great talk that was entertaining and memorable. I will most likely not look at some movies the same again, and I've definitely learned where I fit in the Academic/Utilitarian programmer personality type.
Good rundown on how and when to automate some of the development processes. While not as detailed in the Ansible aspect, with more focus on the primary OS environment, it was still well put together to help others learn to do more automation.
Things won't ever be the same again :-) Now where is that hairy guy when you need him....
