Josh did a great job of showing how a person can create cool stuff in a limited amount of time. He made me feel like I could pick up 'gGo' and 'AngularJS' quickly and use them to build the code to bring my ideas to life in a short time using tools that have build for the world.
Fantastic session. Working game presented up front and dissected, then we went back to a barebones framework and re-implemented the game step by step. Very instructive and engaging!
I think this was a great discussion on open source in society today. There were a lot of things that were directly applicable to issues I'm dealing with today.
I've been wanting to use shorewall at home, but wasn't sure where to start. This was a great intro and I definitely plan on taking what I learned and setting it up at home.
I've always wanted to know more about how iptables works. I spend most of my time just looking up solutions in Google. I feel a lot more confident now in figuring things out on my own and understanding what I had done before.
Great information. I've been concerned lately about security and privacy both at home and in my organization. I got a lot of good information about AIDE and how to get around its drawback.
Some good information about MySQL at large scales and it's history over the past few years. I would have loved to attend the Q&A session later in the day, but wasn't able to make it.
Good intro to this kind of tool, though I'd strongly encourage any app developers to write native code for anything more than simple content retrieval/display.
