Talk comments

The panelists did a good job of fielding questions and encouraging audience participation in a friendly and non-confrontational way on a sensitive subject.

In almost a meta-commentary on the issue, the audience participation seemed very male-dominated, even though there were many women in the audience. It would have been nice for the panelists to encourage the men in the audience to speak a little less and the women to speak a little more, but I am not sure how to do that without offending.

Great job. Made the case for Typescript by showing benefits of the compiler instead of just showing off lame "Duck extends Animal" OO examples.

I missed the intro one, so some of the more advanced techniques went a bit over my head. However, they were presented in an entertaining and engaging style. Josh also had prepared code for people to download and follow along, which was really helpful. A great talk that bumped my CSS knowledge up a few levels.

As someone pretty new to hardware hacking, I enjoyed the talk. He spent maybe a bit too long just showing websites where you could purchase Arduino stuff, but I definitely know where to turn to get something.

The demos were cool and worked well, and he showed off the dev environment.

Great talk that showed practical application for home automation at a (relatively) cheap price. Also, all of his live demos worked, which is amazing.

Steve, one of my coworkers and I attended your session, and found it very informative. Thanks for your time, and the great database training.

Mark, thanks for giving us a good look at how facebook has leveraged mysql for it's data needs. I found the Q&A very helpful to not only hear how facebook leverages mysql, but to also hear your thoughts on the future of SQL and NoSQL.

Thanks for the great overview of MariaDB Colin. I have been using cassandra for big data lately, and am looking forward to mariadb's storage engine ability to treat cassandra as a table.
