Nice intro to event sourcing and the benefits it can bring in a system.
It was an enjoyable, knowledgeable and informative talk.
At times, the example used felt a little like more understanding was needed to fully appreciate why it was relevant to that particular domain.
Emily spoke clearly and covered a lot of material. The talk could be given in full over a longer time period, but the main points were well explained in the time available. Emily's responses to questions were also useful, and many useful links were provided. Thanks Emily
A really engaging talk. Very informative with excellent slides full of useful information. The content and advice given will really help our team. Thanks Andreas
Excellent talk: both informative and entertaining! Learned several things I had no idea about regarding how unicode is stored and interpreted, especially regarding MySQL handling.
Cheers, Andreas! ?
Great subject matter which was broken down into bite sized chunks and explained very clearly and concisely. Left me with some further reading. I enjoyed it a lot.
The only problem with the talk is that it was 20 minutes long. PHPStorm is a tool with tonnes of features and the short amount of time meant only the surface was scratched. Good for what it was but due to the short amount of time I didn't discover many new features I didn't already know about.
Very interesting look under the hood of php showing the opportunities and challenges which present themselves when attempting to improve the performance of the language.
Phunkie looks good. Functional programming wasn't something I wasn't too familiar with but gave a good crash course in the subject matter. The only issue for me is that the code slides didn't have syntax highlighting which made them a little difficult to read.
Interesting subject matter, was a good way to kick off the conference.
A very good and insightful talk that gave a nice overview with appropriate deeper dives into encoding and character sets in a good presentation style.
