Nice and funny discussions in the evening.
Really goot rant about stuff that professors have to stop teaching in university
This was the first talk I heard from Lorna.
Really good tips on how to prepare a talk, what to expect on stage and how to make sure everything goes right or nobody notices if it does not.
The talk was great. Patrick had some nice slides and gave a great overview.
He ran a little out of time, so the info on multimedia (the "fun stuff" ;-) was shown later during the lunchbreak. But I missed that part, because no one told me :-/.
Yeah it was more discussion around the principles of what makes a successful team rather than the techniques used to make a successful team. That said, there still some very good points coming out of it :-)
great talk
An interesting debate, triggered by the donations mechanism on pledgie.com; but seemed to go round in circles a lot, and didn't really come to any conclusions. I suspect that this debate will continue for several months to come
Volker brought up a lot of good points where documentation is just cruft.
Provided me with a few helpful pieces of advice on how I should try and identify further memory-hogging blocks of code, and some great in-depth details of the innards of PHP memory management. Certainly provided food for thought.
It wasn't really helpful for me, because I'm a one man team that has to fill all required roles myself.
But the discussion about how different teams work in different companies was interesting to follow.
