Maybe just a mismatch from my side but the explanation of "this is how Linux permissions work" was just too much for me and I had to leave Maybe still useful for total Linux beginners though. Also please give Saltstack the recognition it deserves: the possibilities of Puppet (with or without salt-ssh) but the ease of use of Ansible.
great talk, just missed an explanation of the common practice of putting external CSS in the head and external JS just above the </body> element.
Good overview and practical solutions for dealing with legacy codebases, very recognisable as well :)
The talk addresses very well the most common problems (hells) you have to face when refactoring/rewriting/modernizing old code. I was able to recognize situations I've faced and got out several good ideas about approaches to old code base. Got me hooked up to sit down and attack couple of old 3000+ lines classes :)
Interesting concept, definitely has a place in the php ecosystem. Hope you get some traction amongst the big projects.
Regarding the talk, for me it was still quite abstract although you gave some examples. Maybe it's also because Puli tries to solve multiple (related) problems. You could try to separate those in different sections in the presentation?
Good luck with the project!
thanks for the talk.
The intro performed its purposes well in terms of introducing the topic and providing an abstract of the session. Michael does a good job explaining DevOps and giving attendees plenty of starting points for their future DevOps careers.
Easily one of the best in-depth Elasticsearch talks/tutorials I've seen so far! Presented in such a relaxed and own way that made it easy to pick up the gold nuggets.
Like we talked about after the tutorial: there's always this balance to strike between how much in depth (aka how much of the listeners I'm going to lose) vs how generic (but maybe less attractive for more advanced users). For me this balance was excellent (keeping in mind that at the company I work we are using more advanced stuff)! Maybe others think differently, let's see :)
I loved the live demo! It adds to the relaxed way of presenting and makes me feel like you know exactly what you're talking about.
Sorry but couldn't think of anything that you can improve :(
Thanks for picking your brain and maybe we'll talk later
Fast talker, nice and quick, good slides (could do with little more colour or images vs text) - thanks for planning to share them, not much humour but kept the subject light, thanks for sharing advice without spending too much time on the old code, solution focussed, usable and realistic tips and implementations, could be more concise answering questions and repeat them for the room - although full answers help to understand the original question and well done summarising your answer, awesome graphs - they really help to visualise the situations.
very high level. but very intresting
