Talk comments

Some brilliant ways of thinking - albeit some of the concepts being very advanced for me. But I think there was enough concept that everybody picked up something from the talk, so the talk did its job

It was a different presentation style, especially for the last section, and I enjoyed it. It kept things interesting

You've certainly convinced me to give Drupal a fresh look. It was an interesting, entertaining, and persuasive talk - and I'm glad I attended

This talk had lots of "Aah!" moments in it. As said during the talk, DI is such a simple concept but is made confusing by the fancy name -
and was explained perfectly by Rob in a very short amount of time

Once it was explained, it was great to hear Rob's opinion on the different ways DI is used, and in what situations we should (or should never) use them

I really enjoyed Rob's presentation style. He made you feel confident that you're going to get this - and you did. He kept things simple, the idea of using paper as an example was a stroke of genius, and he looked like he really belonged on that stage

Reminded me very much of a CMS I used to work on so it was good to see that other people have implemented similar solutions.

A great talk on a subject that I think a lot of us are increasingly finding more and more important to know about

I really enjoyed the introduction section, but found it hard going following everything. But that was perhaps because I came into the talk knowing nothing at all about development environments such as puppet and Vagrant, and some kind of knowledge may be assumed

But at least, I came out learning how to set up Vagrant - so as far as I'm concerned, the talk taught me exactly what I wished it would do!

Good coverage of the main PHP perf tools but would have been good to see some case studies on how to improve the performance of an app based on the profiling results or even how to make an app fast enough in the first place! :)

Thanks for organising this, was nice to do something different. Shame we couldn't finish the game though.

The split rooms certainly worked really well technically - but also worked amazingly between Lorna and Ivo - who both worked together brilliantly. There was a great connection between the two speakers, and it was a great pairing that really worked

I was in the main room, and Lorna really nailed it. She confidently owned the stage, was passionate about what she was saying, and she made me enthusiastic about the subject in hand. The small technical issue with the microphone left Lorna totally unfazed

Ivo also did superbly. The walking around didn't distract me (it would seem more distracting to me to be rooted to the spot) - and the slightly calmer style of Ivo's was a perfect companion to Lorna's style

The content was also spot on. There were certainly a couple of things I heard before, but it didn't hurt to get a reminder. And I'm sure I could watch it all over again and get something else out of the talk

Possibly the best speaker at the whole of PHPNW13.
Talks to the audience not at them.
Funny moments kept the talk flowing nicely.
Good luck in your future with Google down south!

Great talk, well delivered, with plenty of humour. Full marks for going for the live demo and getting it spot on. I've been working closely with config management tools of late but haven't had a play with ansible so it was good to see it in action. Would have been good to see how it behaves with something larger scale than a dev VM.
