Great talk, very well polished. A perfect introduction to the library.
I really appreciate this initiative. Great job! You are awesome!
Very inspirational to try out Behat!
Heads up: if you're "just" building websites, this talk will make you feel like you're years behind the game. Fantastic overview of current and emerging AR and VR technologies, along with suggested applications for the web.
I've attended machine learning talks focused on .NET and the Azure cloud before, so I was familiar with some of the principles but the technology was lost on me. Damien finally made machine learning approachable for me, and (as I told him after the talk) he's probably started me down a long path of trying to teach machines to do cool things.
A veteran speaker, Jeremy's great in front of a crowd of people, and this was a great first foray into keynote talks.
As someone who's been to php[architect] conferences in the past, I've at least run into a lot of the people who were name-checked, but I could see it being kind of exclusive from the perspective of someone who's newer to the community.
Great light talk. The speaker is incredibly knowledgeable about user experiences and designing for the users. Lots of great examples and amusing anecdotes to make for an interesting discussion.
Good, but light talk. Turns out most of the talk was "here's how not to work with Wordpress, and here's what you should do instead" which is great, but can easily be summed up by "let WorPress do what WordPress does best and trust that it's fast"
Plenty of pitfalls for custom WordPress coding and queries were brought up to help make sure you don't accidentally make your site slow when it doesn't have to be.
Best live demo I've seen in a convention. Easy to setup stack and I loved being able to solve the problems promises along with the speaker. It's amazing how fast and easy it is to run asynch PHP.
Useful talk for covering GoF design patterns in PHP. I was hoping to see more examples of how these design patterns might be applied to refactor real-world technical debt.
