Thanks for the talk. I was a lot of information to try and process. I'm hoping when I review the video it will click better.
John Boctor, thank you for the feedback. Could you elaborate a bit more?
In all the cases I showed, the API consumer needs to be aware of the underlying database platform or the driver (i.e. the implementation details) to make their code work in a portable way. Is it what makes it leaky?
Good talk for beginners. I would have liked an up front slide to tell the story of where he was going with the talk, and clearer transitions. I wasn't quite sure when we went from history to modern.
Thanks @john barclay for the feedback!
Since giving this on Tuesday, I've gone through and revamped it with some more diagrams and concrete explanations for giving it at a different conference today.
@John - if we cross paths again, I owe you a beverage as a thank you. That offer doesn't expire. :)
This was great. The slides were simple but on point, and everything was very well paced. The whole thing resonated well - thank you for what you’re doing for the community and for inspiring others to get engaged.
This was a great talk. The analogies were easy to follow and very helpful. Mark spoke clearly and energetically and was easy to follow even from the back of the room.
Very good coverage of breadth of benefits and tools fot open api. Went short ten minutes rsther than add filler or go down rabbit holes that could muddy the overview. Well done.
Well thoight out.
Just perfect summary with well prepared speaker and examples.
Chris did a great job wrapping up php[tek] 2023 with this closing keynote. Talk was entertaining, engaging, and inspiring. Loved the community emphasis, which felt very appropriate at php[tek].
