I didn't like this talk at all. I don't understand how a talk like this gets selected from an event of this category. A lot of naive, watered-down self-helping stuff and too much memes to compensate for the lack of rhythm and actual interesting content.
I found the talk somewhat unrelated to the Symfony world. We expected to see more news about the Symfony world, like what are the plans for the 3.0 version, new features being developed, etc. I didn't like the lessons in UX from the webpage, I found it totally unrelated and a little weird.
This talk was promising because the problem that approached is very interesting. However, I found that the solutions proposed were very clumsy and promoted bad practices, like putting listeners everywhere, which is not really desirable. There are more more advanced and interesting solutions that I would had like to see.
I believe Sarah is an excellent enthousiastic speaker, but the problem was the content of the slides. Too much code, too few highlighting of things. Also I missed some introduction on the topic, only by the end there were some overview slides. Keynotes shouldn't be examples of code, but about showing ideas.
So simplify the slides, and it will be fine! :-)
Really informative talk. Thanks! Quick question: where can we download the slides?
You know the deal… The good humor of Jeremy Mikola, the fear of an application crash, a visible suit jacket, and here we go, let's have some fun !
I liked this talk because it delivered what it promised. I went there expecting to get ideas and discover new developments being done in the sector, and got exactly that. Components talked about seemed really interesting and I left wanting to know more about them. However, I find the speaker was not dynamic enough. More rhythm would have been nice.
