Great talk from a good speaker (great after the initial nervousness), passionately talking about the important subject of the non-technical culture needed in any team as habitability IMHO has nothing to do with systems at scale but good team work company culture.
Hi Kristijan,
It's totally understandable, if you are not familiar with EventSourcing & CQRS, lots of used terms might not be easily understandable. This was marked as an advanced talk, it was already shortened to fit the current slot and this was not an introduction to DDD or ES+CQRS talk, but a talk about my experiences using it. As a speaker, I'm sorry I didn't properly manage expectations at the beginning, stating clearly needed prerequisites for clearer understanding of all the mentioned concepts and I will for sure work on improving this.
If you are interested in exploring some of the unclear terms, there are lots of videos on youtube & blog posts from people much more qualified than me explaining the aggregates & aggregate roots, sagas/process managers, event driven systems, command handler and event listener patterns.
Thank you for the clear feedback!
I really liked the workshop. It gave me essential knowledge on logo design, a very good basis to continue learning further on my own.
Liked: Ivan asked each one of our goals and struggles in writing, which helped to formulate his workshop a bit. We were asked to write an article without any prior prep because it's the real scenario for journalists. I thought it was fun experience to be a journalist for an afternoon. I really liked how he gave us feedback on the spot and highlighted things we did well and didn't do well in our writing. The feedback was very useful. The Q&A session was great too - he provided lots of knowledge as an insider in the publishing industry. The 4 hours flew by and I would recommend it to anyone in the tech industry that wants to get better at or start writing.
Didn't like so much: The slides were in Croatian which I couldn't follow, tho Ivan explained them in English too, I would have liked to read examples and slides in English.
Interesting, funny, informative and educational approach to often overlooked aspect of every project. Like :)
Overview of web animations and introduction to some useful tools. Quite basic, but not bad.
Excellent topic, comical and tragical at the same time. Funny and engaging approach, interwoven with pop culture references. Best talk of the day for sure. My only objection is that it raises more question than it answers, and there isn't really a one-for-all, simple solution possible. More of a social commentary on the state of things.
Missing some numbers and research to support provided info, but overall informative.
Interesting topic, great for first time! :)
Very interesting subject, especially something that is a big issue in the developer community due to our 'inherited' asocial aspect of life.
I felt some things were "over-communicated" (mentioned multiple times), not as a part of a plan (and I do like the overcommunication pattern) but due to lack of preparation or being nervous talking in front of 400 ppl.
