Talk comments

This was a very appropriate topic for any developer, and one not talked about anywhere near enough. Thanks for presenting it in a well thought out, manner. As a note, the end questions would have been much better asked after the session, especially in that large of a group.

Great overview of your location-smart options. Learned lots of interesting stuff, like GEOHashing.

You have a great presentation style, and I appreciated the info you gave. I might have helped to clearly identify what you were doing to avoid creating new legacy code (the elements were there, but they were not labeled as such).

Good synopsis of the tools and options available for getting location data. I would have also liked a look at how it is or can be used on the web today.

Andrei said he would post the slides shortly after class. Are they here somewhere?

Haven't been able to claim this talk yet, so I can't add the link to the slides. Apologies for rating myself here then to do it... hopefully you think it's fair.

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you found the presentation useful! I've linked to the slides above.

Hi Anonymous,

I'm sorry if the talk didn't meet your expectations. Within roughly one hour of a presentation though it's hardly possible to go into depth of all the areas shown and as you can see from the abstract it wasn't meant to be. Funny thing is, you even mention as a critical point that the content was as advertised.

Regarding the slides: I hope you do realize that the very point of using slides is to *support* the presentation - not replace it.
