The session was very well prepared and interesting, got quite a few pieces of information.
What it felt weird was that it felt more like a lecture than a workshop, but I can't put a finger on the why.
Reacted well to this.
somehow this presentation turned into a Q&A at the end, which was great! learned a lot
I don't agree with people saying: "product X takes care of that, so I don't need to know how it works", sooner or later you get in trouble and then you need to understand why.
Nice to a combination of refactoring and design patterns. Could have been better if the refactorings were done more structured. Maybe 45 minutes is just too short anyway.
Entertaining and informative :)
Interesting talk although I allready use the mentioned design patterns. For me the way (process) of refactoring was refreshing.
I think you know more then you're presenting in your talk and would like to encourage you to expect more knowledge from the audience.
If you expect your audience to know varnish and nginx (as they should), why use 10 minutes of your talk to explain the bare basics of caching?
Really good workshop all around, even with github failing on us :)
+1 for the do it now exercise
As feedback, I would keep the phpunit part tad shorter and allocate that time to the other tools.
