Talk comments

Great talk. I enjoyed learning how teaching works, why it fails, and how to structure things for greater information retention. While not all of this can be used in the presentation format, teaching goes way beyond conferences.

The topics covered were exactly what I was expecting, but the delivery was a bit all over the place. Open Source would be so much better if people were just nice to each other.

I always enjoy hearing these kinds of talks, especially Luke's story. The ups and downs of starting a successful company are a good grounding strategy in the days of startups that are only worried about cashing out quickly.

Picked up some good knowledge. Super engaging and fun talk to attend. I'll be picking up your book to complete the cycle.

Well thought out examples. Hoping that I can carry this understanding into my own work.

What Is A Great Closing Keynote?

A nice relaxing way to wind down the conference. They kicked us out even though Mother Nature made it clear we should have stayed inside.

Excellent talk and very well delivered. For me it struck a good balance between technical examples and design principles. It's always helpful to get a concrete case study as Jeff provided with his company -- especially with time consuming shifts in software architecture. Also, the concise explanation of when/not to use SOA was appreciated.

Excellent overview; helped me solidify these concepts. Suggestion for a followup talk: how to organize code in a functional paradigm.

It was so good the cops had to be called!
