Great tutorial, thanks Chris. I appreciated the clear explanation of basics like Linux directory structure, and the pace was good as we moved into more advanced tools. The live demonstrations were also very helpful.
I think Cal did a great job highlighting some sound advice for people new to developing with PHP, but it also applies to people of all levels.
This was an excellent talk. It was very motivational and covered many useful pieces of advice that apply to developers at all levels.
I enjoyed this talk. Chris definitely covered to concepts of OO beyond just inheritance, which is a welcomed change from most OO talks. Like others my main reason for not giving this 5 stars is not being able to read the code samples during the presentation.
I think this talk has a lot of potential. I liked the personal stories of why we should be logging and monitoring. One of the things I would like to see are what tools you implemented to solve these problems. This will give people a place to start when looking into starting logging and monitoring.
Excellent talk. This talk is perfect for someone, like myself, who just started using git recently and had the basic ideas down. Walked away with a better idea how git works and more commands to leverage this tool to my advantage.
This talk pairs up really well with his other talk, "Does your code measure up?". Focusing on where to look when starting the refactoring process and giving great examples.
As someone developing their first API this talk was perfect for me. Really appreciate all the information.
Motivating talk that really makes me want to become a better developer by being more of a part in the community. Reinforced things I have been working on and things I need to work on.
Use of profanity was a uncalled for. I came to learn, not hear the f-bomb. Need to work on articulation and pronunciation as you're a little hard to understand. Summation of talk was, refactor legacy code and if your manager tells you 'Not now.' due to having higher priority projects, do it anyway.
