This was pretty interesting, the one improvement I would make would be talking more about the downsides / gritty parts of each of the suggested changes. I can see some potential trade-offs that I feel were glossed over a bit. Overall very good presentation, though.
Overall was presented well, and you clearly have some awesome experience with this. However, I felt like I didn't get much out of this talk. I think it focused too much on personal experience. Talking about personal experience is great, but I think this talk needed more content on how we can use this information and why it could be useful outside of your specific experiences.
Whoops, sorry, conflated a few talks there with the DI code.
I've consumed plenty of APIs that exist through about your "level 2". That gave me a general sense for the things you were talking about, but the notes I took during your session will be a much more direct & useful resource should I find myself needing to create my own API.
The DI-related code examples in PHP invite a host of opinions folks may have, and it sounded like some people may have gotten a little distracted / off track from your message by their inclusion.
The breakout sessions are relevant in the present, but the technical trends they're talking about will become dated with time. Your message will not. Thanks for a thoughtful talk that will be applicable for the rest of my career.
There was a LOT of information, and it was a little hard for me to follow. I did learn some things about arrays that I wasn't aware of.
I have always had trouble with estimates. This talk gave me some new ways to tackle them that I can hopefully share with my team (and the rest of the company). I am definitely going to use the term SWAGs in the future. :)
I would have benefited from a little more explanation. My biggest take-away was that I can use my user stories to create tests. I've never done TDD but have always wanted to. That tip will help me.
I have recently started learning Laravel. This talk let me know I am headed in the right direction. There was a lot of information to digest.
I think this is a great topic, and the speaker quality was very good. But to be honest, I walked away from this talk feeling exhausted, when I could have felt inspired. I think this did a great job of illustrating some *very* real problems, but needed more talk about how we can help and how to apply the code manifesto in our everyday jobs.
